The Web & Connected Services Group (WCG) accelerates Intuit’s growth by deploying robust web shop, buy, and self-service support business and technology infrastructure solutions that deliver great customer experience, business scalability, and employee productivity.

We are looking for an experienced designer who can turn ideas into amazing designs that delight our customers by solving important customer problems end-to-end, being easy and efficient to use, and delivering emotional engagement. We desire a strong designer with skills and experience in UI architecture and interaction design to help design online applications and deliver WOW customer experience. The successful candidate will also have a strong interest in performing some web development work using latest web and RIA technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver all aspects of design, from concepts and prototypes to UI specifications for new and existing web applications
- Develop presentation layer in HTML (JSP preferred, but not required) for new/existing web applications
- Turn visions into concepts and translate those concepts into designs that illustrate simplicity despite complexity of the system
- Generate multiple concepts that fulfill project goals and requirements and articulate the trade-offs between concepts and make a recommendation
- Apply strategic thinking to deliver end-to-end user experience solutions with a focus on user needs and business goals
- Create rapid prototype designs, mockups, and storyboards using relevant tools all the way to final implementation
- Partner with technology team on design feasibility, with design team on visual design integrity, and with internal clients on business requirements and goal definition
- Remain current with new web front-end technologies and design trends and demonstrate a passion for learning
Qualifications: - BS or BA in design or related field
- In-depth training and experience in both interaction and UI design
- 3-5 years experience in designing web based applications
- Working experience in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery, FLEX
- Expertise in design software, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Flash
- Strong interest to perform dual roles: design (primarily), and web front-end development
- Ability to think in terms of end-to-end UI design, apply strategic thinking and business goals to design work, focus on usability and understand aesthetic values.
- Proficient in a variety of methods to convey ideas and concepts (e.g. wireframes, prototypes, etc)
- Illustrate experience in conceptual development and creative prototypes as well as tactical UI design and implementation
- Effective communicator, presenter, and negotiator (able to defend design decisions)
- Great attention to detail, strong can-do attitude
- Ability to deliver good quality work under a very aggressive timeline
- Ability to follow company-wide brand guidelines is required
- Strong portfolio available for viewing
